Virginia Tech swarmed Old Dominion at the line of scrimmage. (Jon Fleming)

Meanwhile, the passing game came to life for the Hokies and turned all of that defensive momentum into points.

The top photo... That blood on Copeland's uniform says everything about the action in the trenches on Saturday. (And, you can't even see if there is any blood on the maroon part!)

Brandon -- Would it be fair to say we were committed to stopping the run and making their QB prove he could beat us with his arm? He made some nice throws and their receivers made a couple of nice catches. I imagine that's just part of what happens when you play a team like ODU. I'm curious, do you see us employing a similar approach against Maryland? I imagine they have a greater potential of making us pay if we do. Thoughts? Thanks.

It was definitely an old school stop-the-run mentality, with Tech crowding the box like that. I don't know much about Maryland, but Pry loves his pressures. I could see him breaking out more mugged linebackers this week because its something we haven't seen much of yet.
