"tied for the second-most in program history since 1987" What an oddly idiosyncratic way to look at things. Why pick 1987? Did the rules of the game change in 1987 making earlier records inapplicable? Did VT football not exist before Beamer became coach? Was that not Don Strock I sat next to in class? Maybe those 80+ seasons from 1902-1986 are irrelevant to everyone in the coveted 18-34 advertising demographic?

That's how far back VT's searchable online database at stats.hokiesports.com goes. That's why you see so many "since 1987" references not just from us, but elsewhere. Good question, and thanks for the opportunity to answer.

How hard is it to answer those snarky sarcastic questions/comment in a professional manner?

I'm concerned about the O-line. First and Goal on the 1 and we Kicked a Field goal??? OK, maybe ODU had 6 men in the box, don't run up the middle, option to roll out, spread out the line, or run a jet sweep or something so ODU has to defend the width of the field. Second - who officiated that damn game, the knee didn't touch the field, the punter got taken out, and a bunch of other crap. It smelled bad all the way to Northern Virginia and down to Atlanta. Third - corners got beat on deep patterns!!!!! GO HOKIES!!! BEAT THE twerps!!!

I think those are two bad play calls honestly. Grunk is not a threat to run so why are we calling read options? One...it's a slow developing play and two, It gives the defense time to get upfield and react.

What a testament to Lee Suggs; 3rd on scoring list made up of kickers.

Lots of contributors from all three phases yesterday! That has got to be good for overall team confidence. Let's do it again against Maryland!

Ivan Morozov seems to routinely capture awesome photos like the Luke Reynolds diving TD! 😀
