Chuck Losey is now running strength & conditioning for Virginia Tech football. I’d imagine about the only thing most fans know about him is that he’s rocking a Rollie Fingers-worthy mustache, a facial hair choice that seems to have replaced the goatee as the peak of strength coach lip protection.

I'm curious how much debate that mid-rep maxes (4-6rep) are safer than 1-rep maxes. I'm skeptical there'd be much debate at all (the big assumption being that it's a true max-effort rep), given that giving maximum effort under higher loads is just straight-up more likely to cause joint injuries than doing the same under lower loads.

I'd like to think that AI could assist our WBB players with improved balance, quicker reactions and getting off the floor when rebounding ... btw this not a knock as I'm a big fan of women's sports ... I have 2 daughters and 1 granddaughter that were high-school athletes ... improvement in these areas would enhance existing talent Ut Prosim HokieGT VT78

Based on Franklin's comments last week about being a fast team, I'm betting that's an emphasis of Losey's plan as well. There's been a lot of advancements regarding speed drills including using AI technology for feedback on each individual player. Very good and interesting article Chris.
