Came to love wbb ever since I lived in Norfolk and introduced to ODU women. Was shocked at their ability; they went on to win NChamp. Now follow VT wbb as much or more than mens. VT 1970

The ladies are doing a lot better than I thought! Megan is being mentioned as ACC coach of the year! She an the coaching staff are helping every player on the team to play at there top potential! They are more fun to watch play also! That’s why there are bigger crowds at the mens games also! Can’t wait to watch them in the ACC tournament and the NCAA tournament! Go ladies!???

Chris…love your stuff. But please don’t compare something in basketball to soccer. Just speaking foreign language. ?

I saw that Amoore got 43 the other night but we are getting four and five women in double figures each night. Interesting

Agree with Chris, WBB is where they should be relative to the talent on the Team. Mid pack performance is fine for this year. A good off season in the portal, hopefully veteran 4 and 5, could quickly get back to contender status ( on top 4 or 5. Solid group coming back , just a few additions needed

I think CMD saw the potential in CB's leftovers as being a reason for not going to the portal. Also, the aforementioned players were already comfortable in Blacksburg.

When was the last time the men won AT Notre Dame, Florida State, and UVA?

C'mon Chris, how about equal time here? This article is almost entirely about the men's team. Like all Hokies, I am pleased that the men have done so well of late - speaks highly of Mike Young's ability to make a team out of individual players in a pretty short time period, but it is the women's team that is on the NCAA bubble not the men's and our ladies play in the women's ACC which is considerably above the level of the men's side this year. The prognosticators said the ladies would be 12th in the ACC. Been above that most (maybe all) of the season. We are currently 9th - a good bit above 12th, and we hung in in most all the high end games (not FSU and NCSU, but did extremely well against GT and I'd say well even in losing to ND.) We also lost a key player out front early on that has left us a bit short on speed and defense, and our only true center has missed the last two games but we worked it out for the second one. The team is young and started the year with a low level of experience, but obviously a good level of talent. I expect that most of us who follow the women closely feel they are doing better than we had hoped they could given all the changes put on them so suddenly at the end of last season. The KB ladies also deserve kudos for still being here. We kept 6 and that is most unusual under the circumstances they faced last spring. I enjoy your columns, but I think you shorted our women's team in this one.

It was intended as a men's column. David is coming with a women's UNC preview tomorrow.

Should have titled the article VT men’s basketball status instead of VT basketball status. Megan Duffy is doing a great job not a good job. ESPN has VT women last few teams in.

I appreciate that, but "basketball" no longer mean men's basketball by default at VT.

“ women’s team is right where most of us thought it would be” They are well beyond where it thought they would be kudos to Coach Duffy and the players!

Same here. Didn't expect this much. I think it's because I didn't realize how good Micheaux was because she played so little last year.
