   I hear the perspective Chris but dang we are dinosaur ages behind the SEC and Big Ten If we have to wait until half time to communicate offensive countermeasures within our team. Play-change alignments to me are no different than defensive player or coach pre-snap play calling or D-Line Shifting before the ball snaps....we should naturally be ready for this type of pressure and confusion. This scheme should not be nothing new. The 1st half simply killed us. The enemy was successful; Too much damage to recover from. I just can't fathom the idea that our Coaches and QB couldnt course correct until halftime OR talk over headset during an defensive series or use iPads, or send a GA coach down to the field to carry the message to Drones. If our Offense cant make in game adjustments (big boy football) and has to wait until halftime that's really unacceptable to me......were going to be dead in the water every week as we start to play any of the top teams and coaches of the ACC.....BC, Syracuse, Rutgers, Miami, Clemson, GT, Duke, UVA.

   CC: Watching that clip, doesn't it look like Vandy's #2 knows exactly where the ball is going? He doesn't even get his head up to look for the ball and he's all over Lane like white on rice. Could be super-human instincts I guess but... damn.

      First off, great username. Secondly, yes. He had a pretty good idea what was coming. That's the whole point of switching the defense...they had a pretty idea that they could manipulate VT into certain plays with their alignment.

   Great article Chris. I hope this is not one of those "get Chris mad" games where Rutgers has a 7 to 10 point early lead and Bowen abandons the run game resulting in Drones having 35 to 40 pass attempts. Bowen has the tendency to do this in games at least one to three times per season.

   Would'nt it have been better to take Drones out for a couple series so the coaches could get him lined out , instead of wasting an entire half ? Just more incompetence from the coaches ?

      The real problem is that this should have been evident to Bowen after the first series or two, and he should have stopped calling his offense based on the defensive alignment.
