Note in picture above, Lane is on the 4 yard line with the ball held above his head in only one hand. He also spiked the ball, and was very fortunate that it didn't cost his team 15 yards (like it did when Drones spiked it). This team can't afford selfish showboating like this.

It's a new rule, we need to follow it. But a spike is hardly showboating as it's the preferable touchdown celebration since Madden 92

Both Drone's TD run and 4th down conversion to Gosnell were not broken plays. TD run was clearly a QB design run, he had 4 fiver WR on the field spreading the defense, and got the number average inside the tackle box. Same thing for 4th down conversion, Drones rolled to the right, both Gosnell and Tuten rolled out to the flat, so they had 3 options for Drones 1) Pass to Tuten, 2) Pass to Gosnell, and 3) Run himself. For sure, it's designed play for sure.

Great game all around for the Hokies! Will be tougher to measure sustained progress with FSU being the next opponent. But after that we will be able to tell for sure if something has clicked.

Hokies seem to play FSU at another level. Don’t be surprised if we give them a game.

Even if Jennings does return, it's unlikely he'll get 4 games worth of work. I wonder if he would want to return next year. I don't know if he has a redshirt year left, but a medical redshirt is also a possibility if he wanted to come back.

He has his redshirt if he stays under four games.
