Go Hokies, beat the Whoos!

I feel bad for UVA with all they went through last year. To get back on the field and play ball will probably be the best medicine for them. My only beef we lost the revenue of a home game which is no small loss. The community lost as well so why couldn’t this year’s game be played in Blacksburg. We have had seven home games in the past. It wouldn’t e disrespectful to UVA in any way.

I agree that it would not have been disrespectful to ask for the change back then, and who knows if the subject was even broached...but that ship sailed months ago. UVa is wealthier than VT and could absorb the revenue loss better than VT can, but IIWII.

This should be a team that VT beats like a drum - if this game is competitive it will be a sign that the Hokies are having serious issues with execution.

It is not fair that we have to go there after them canceling last year.

Wasn't fair that they had 3 players killed either.

For those who don't remember: After the campus shootings of April 16, 2007, the entire UVA community showed their support for Tech. Signs all around The Grounds and Charlottesville proclaiming "Today we are all Hokies". The outpouring of support went above and beyond. Last year Tech reciprocated. There was no way UVA could have played that game and cancelling was the right decision. I have absolutely no problem with UVA / VT agreeing to not flip the schedule to bring this year's game to Blacksburg. Beyond being fair, it is simply the right thing to do.

I agree 100%. I will be forever grateful for the UVA response in 2007.
