When will they decide if they want to use their Covid year? Would love to have Catoor and Basile back.

Cattoor - can be a coach on the floor with VT next year. Transferring may give him exposure to a different culture - but there are a lot of teams that are playing 'school yard' ball despite the coachig. That would only expose him to lots of bad habits. Mutts - a 'lunch pail' Hokie. IF I were an entrepreneur - I'd hire him in a heartbeat.

Hunter and Justyn, Thank you for being Hokies!

Great guys, for sure. "But there was a lack of cohesiveness and consistency..." The question is: why? GO HOKIES!

Sadly Pedulla didn’t have his best year. He is very very good but for our team to have won 5 more games he needed a few more shots to fall. It didn’t help to lose Maddux too and his shooting was off. All amazing players. VT basketball is very good under Mike Young and every player on the team is good. Hunter and Grant should return and VT is 100% a tournament team next year. Kidd, Collins, Poteat, & Rice with one more year will have Cassell Rockin!! We Will Prevail!

Both are the embodiment of what we fans would like to see in all Hokie student-athletes. So proud of both of them, and extremely grateful for the joyous memories they’ve provided for us. Wishing them much success in whatever endeavors they pursue.

+1 Couldn't say it better! Just a joy to watch Mutts passing & under-the-basket work...and Cattoor banging 3-pointers and playing defense! Class players & great Hokies, both!!

Very classy. Both men's and women's teams create a very positive impression for themselves, the coaching staff, fellow students in Cassell Guard, alumni, and all who watch Hokie sports. They are true student/athletes, and embody the best there can be in college sports. Hope these guys get another shot in an NIT bid- not for us, but for them. Who knows how far the girls can go?

These guys are the absolute best. I'm so glad that they chose VT.

First credit Mike for finding these guys, they seemed like the Bad News Bear at times. Mutts' story is pretty terrific, working his way up through 3 levels of basketball to keep pushing himself and taking full advantage of taking classes and getting degrees...what school was really meant to be about. I really like these guys even when they lose. I hope they do play NIT, for themselves, to have fun. (and give Rodney Rice a few more minutes) It would be fantastic it they could play a round or two at Cassell but I guess they won't be the seeds. Fingers crossed.

Hunter would be an excellent plug and play for teams like Kansas or Gonzaga, etc. He will get portal offers if he wants them.

He is pretty close to MY. I don't see him going anywhere else if he wants to stay in college.

If he wants to be a coach, getting out there and playing under another high-level coach would actually benefit him.

I agree fully, if he wants to become a coach, playing in another conference and for a different coach will only benefit him. CMY and his system are very good, but there are many other coaches and systems from which Hunter could learn from. I hope he returns, but if he asked me, I would advise him to go into the portal and see what is available to him.

Is he still dating Coach Brooks daughter? Maybe she could be the key factor in him giving another year.

I will remember them as 2 of my favorites. Mutts just a great personality. Great student. Hunter such an over achiever. You have to love him. Played so hard every game.

I’m gonna miss them both. I’m hoping I get to see them add an NIT championship to their accolades. Wish their final year had been better but no one will ever take away their ACC Championship from last year. #Hokies4Life

Heck with NIL, portal, and all the challenges in college sports. These two guys exemplify what we as fans long for. That is athletes that want to be here and represent themselves, their families, and the Hokie Nation with class and dignity and go on to do good.

Great examples of student-athletes in a time when that does not seem to be fashionable or relevant in college sports. If VT gave out the lunch pail in basketball Cattoor and Mutts would have had it quite a bit over the last three years. I hope they go on to successful careers after “the ball stops bouncing” and I am sure they will continue to be ambassadors for VT moving forward.

Both will be remembered for leading the 2022 team to first ACC tournament championship! Fine men who understand what it means to be a team player.
