Ahead of Virginia Tech kicking off against VMI on Saturday, Lane Stadium has a new sponsorship logo on the field: Virginia Credit Union.
On Thursday, the Hokies announced their first-ever corporate sponsor logo to appear on Worsham Field, a partnership brokered by Playfly Sports, the athletic department's multimedia rights partner. The logo will be between the 20- and 30-yard lines.
"We have tremendous momentum within our athletics department, and partnerships like this are another example of how we intend to build upon it," Tech athletic director Brian White said in the release. "Virginia Credit Union is an outstanding organization with deep roots across the Commonwealth, and we're proud to strengthen a relationship that creates meaningful value for both organizations and for Hokie Nation.
"As we continue to position Virginia Tech to compete at the highest level nationally, we have to be bold, innovative and intentional about identifying new opportunities to generate resources and elevate our brand. Seeing Virginia Credit Union on the field at Lane Stadium will be a visible representation of that shared ambition and an exciting step forward for our athletics department."
Along with on-field branding, Virginia Credit Union will donate to Carilion Children's for every first down the Hokies gain this season in an initiative called "Down to Help."
Virginia Tech is the 14th ACC school to announce an on-field corporate sponsor in its football stadium. Two of those — L&N Federal Credit Union at Louisville and Allegacy Federal Credit Union at Wake Forest — are financial services.
This is the conference's second on-field corporate sponsorship deal negotiated by Playfly, after Virginia's partnership with Upstack last fall, which was a one-time placement for the Commonwealth Clash.
Boston College, Duke, NC State and Virginia are the remaining schools without on-field corporate sponsorships in their respective football stadiums for the 2026 season.
