Virginia Tech men's basketball finalized its non-conference schedule for the 2026-27 season on Wednesday morning.

As Tech Sideline previously reported, the Hokies will play nine of their 14 contests at home, highlighted by Ole Miss in the SEC/ACC Challenge (Dec. 1). Four in-state foes visit Cassell Coliseum, too: Richmond (Nov. 16), Old Dominion (Nov. 27), Radford (Dec. 13) and VMI (Dec. 21).

Tech and West Virginia are reigniting a rivalry that was last played in 2015. The Hokies and Mountaineers will meet on Dec. 5 in Morgantown, the first in a three-game series that features a 2027 game in Blacksburg and a 2028 contest in Charleston, W.Va. 

Mike Young & Co. have three neutral-site games on the slate. They'll face Iowa in Sioux City, Iowa, in their third game of the year on Nov. 10. The Hawkeyes are coming off a 24-13 (10-10 Big Ten) season under Ben McCollum that culminated in a trip to the Elite Eight.

Tech also heads to Charleston, S.C., for the Charleston Classic on Nov. 20 and 22, the weekend before Thanksgiving. Though the bracket has yet to be revealed, it'll play two games against a combination of Dayton, Minnesota, Northwestern, Oklahoma State and Utah.

The Hokies' second-to-last non-conference game on Dec. 19 will be against UCF, fresh off an NCAA Tournament appearance under Johnny Dawkins. That'll be held at Rick Case Arena (4,500) in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., home of Nova Southeastern, Division II national champions in 2023 and 2025. It'll mark the first of two meetings with the Knights, who will play Tech somewhere in the DMV area next season.
