Virginia Tech and James Franklin added a commitment from tight end Jordan Karhoff on Tuesday night.

He’s a unanimous four-star prospect from Columbus, Ohio. On3 and ESPN ranked him No. 159 and No. 200 nationally in the 2027 class. He’s a top-12 talent at his position and top 10 in the state.

Karhoff had not taken any official visits, but unofficially visited Blacksburg for the spring game, plus Miami in early April. He also had numerous trips to Ohio State and Penn State.

His Power Four offer list also included Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Cincinnati, Colorado, Duke, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Missouri, Northwestern, Ole Miss, Pitt, Purdue, Rutgers, Stanford, Syracuse, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Karhoff is the 15th pledge in the Hokies’ 2027 class, which is 13th in the country, per the 247Sports composite rankings. He’s the No. 2 prospect in the group behind quarterback Peter Bourque. He’s also the second tight end commitment, joining Braxton Salster.
