Virginia Tech picked up a commitment from defensive end Alexander Taylor on Thursday. He is the first commit of the Hokies’ 2027 recruiting class. Taylor plays for powerhouse St. Frances Academy in Baltimore.

Taylor has reported offers from the Hokies, NC State, Maryland, Boston College, Nebraska, Florida, Penn State and others. The Penn State offer came last summer when James Franklin was still coaching the Nittany Lions.

Taylor will join former teammate Amauri Polydor in Blacksburg. Polydor signed with the Hokies in December and is currently enrolled for spring practice.
