Virginia Tech picked up another commitment, this time from in-state offensive tackle Maddox Cochrane.

Cochrane, who plays for Benedictine in Richmond, is the latest verbal in what appears to be a very large offensive line class.
The in-state prospect was committed to Wisconsin from April until November, but decided to reopen his recruitment. He officially visited the Hokies over the weekend, and James Franklin decided to formally extend the scholarship offer.
Expected to play the offensive tackle position in college, Cochrane is listed with scholarship offers Duke, Florida State, Kentucky, Maryland, NC State, Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse, Virginia, Wake Forest and West Virginia.
Here’s how the recruiting services evaluated Cochrane:
- ESPN: Three-star, No. 14 in Virginia, No. 67 offensive tackle
- 247Sports: Three-star, No. 22 in Virginia, No. 83 offensive tackle
- Rivals: Three-star, No. 33 in Virginia, No. 94 offensive tackle
Cochrane joins an offensive line recruiting class that currently includes Buddy Wegdam, Roseby Lubintus, Tyrell Simpson and Marlen Bright.
