Wingate cornerback Joseph Reddish, the older brother of current Virginia Tech safety Quentin Reddish, committed to the Hokies on Monday afternoon.

The Charlotte, N.C., native had four interceptions and deflected 11 passes in 2024 with the Bulldogs at the Division II level. He also compiled 33 tackles, including two TFLs and half a sack. His best game came against Carson-Newman on Nov. 16 when he picked off two passes.

Reddish did not play in 2023, so there's a chance that could count as his redshirt year and he could have three years of eligibility left. He was an unranked prospect out of Independence High School.

There's a long history of families playing at Tech — since 1987, 35 sets of brothers have competed for the Hokies — and the Reddish brothers, Joseph and Quentin, will carry on that tradition next season. They'll be the second pair of brothers on the 2025 squad along with the McDonald twins, Jayden and Jorden. The Gosnells, Stephen and Benji, and the Moores, Kaden and Braelin, were the two other duos in 2024.

The Fullers and Edmunds were two of the legendary families with three-plus Hokies, and the Reddish clan could join that club if Tech reels in Nick Reddish, the third of four brothers who is a 2026 prospect. Like Quentin, he's a safety at Independence High School. The 247Sports Composite rankings list him as a top-25 player in North Carolina and the No. 451 player in the class.

Joseph Reddish provides some extra depth for Tech at cornerback. He's the second transfer portal addition in that room in the last few days, joining East Carolina's Isaiah Brown-Murray. Derek Jones now has nine scholarship players at that spot for 2025.

Reddish is the Hokies' seventh portal commitment of the offseason and the fourth defensive back. For more information on Virginia Tech’s comings and goings in the portal, click here for Tech Sideline’s roster management page.
