This page represents, to the best of our knowledge, Virginia Tech football’s eligible scholarship players heading into the 2026 season. When a player announces that he is leaving the program or not returning, we will take him off the list and update the numbers. When a new player commits, we will also add him to the list and update the numbers.
This list includes the 22nd-ranked signing day class James Franklin put together in early December. It does not include players who departed the program in the middle of the 2025 regular season — the likes of Donavon Greene (WR), Tucker Holloway (WR), Keyshawn Burgos (DE), James Djonkam (DE), Michael Short (LB), Dante Lovett (CB) and Christian Ellis (S).

Other Notes
1. Isaiah Pina will not attend Virginia Tech. He will sign with Southern.
2. OL Montavious Cunningham is still listed on the roster after a recent update. That most likely means he's been granted a medical hardship waiver by the NCAA. We've re-added him to the roster management page.
3. S Sherrod Covil is still listed on the roster after a recent update. That most likely means he's been granted a medical hardship waiver by the NCAA. We've re-added him to the roster management page.
4. Sources have told TSL that LB George Ballance is now on scholarship.
5. Baylor transfer defensive end Kamauryn Morgan will no longer attend Virginia Tech due to what was apparently an admissions issue.
Returning Players
Here’s a list of Virginia Tech’s scholarship players for 2026. We’ll list them position by position, with total scholarship numbers at the end.
Keep in mind that a few players were seniors in 2025 but got injured and could potentially gain another year of eligibility through a medical hardship waiver. Since it’s impossible to know who will apply, for now, we’re going to leave those players off of the list. We can always add them back later when there is more information.
